ANOTHER TESTER

With no rain (and none forecast until midweek) and the wind still in the East, it looks like today will be another hard one. However, there are still fish to be had if you're careful.

Still no rain , so the river is still running below normal and the weather is dry and overcast.

The river level is still good , but some would say that it's low for this time of year, but this river fishes well at these levels you just have to be careful and commando about a bit. The weather is dry with sunny spells.

It's a cloudy dry morning here and the river conditions are good considering it hasn't rained properly here for a few weeks.

CLOUDY AND DRY

Repeating myself now !! The eden is running at a normalish height and the weather is cloudy and dry at the moment.

The weather has become a bit cooler with a easterly breeze and the river conditions are still ok.

Apparently there are some showers on the way, but at the moment the weather is dry and sunny and the eden is running at it's normal height.

The river conditions are still good and it looks like it's going to be sunny and hot. I would look for shade, either trees on the river bank or trees in a field for a kip !!

The sky is clear and it's quite warm already and the eden is running spot on.

SPRING AT LAST?

Although yesterday saw almost constant drizzle it's unlikely to have had much effect on river levels. To add to that, the temperature's been considerably higher over the last few days and it's forecast to get warmer over the coming week.
Perhaps we may now start to get the consistent top of the water sport that we're used to at this time of year.

DROPPING

The eden rose again yesterday, but has now dropped to a fishable level with a tinge of colour in the water. The weather is very nice at the min, sunny with a clear sky.

The eden rose yesterday and is still dropping slowly back to its normal level. It is fishable in places, but it is still beer coloured and could rise again if there is some more rain.The weather is dry and cloudy and the min.

HORRIBLE MORNING !!

It's wet and windy and not very nice out there. The river conditions are ok at the min, but i would expect the river level to rise as the day goes on. Just stay at home.

DROPPING

The eden came up quite a lot yesterday afternoon, but has dropped now to a fishable level up here at kirkby with a bit of colour in it.
All this could change with a few more heavy showers, but its dry at the min and quite bright.

WET MORNING

It's raining at the moment with more to come. The rain has found it's way into the eden and it has risen 2 to 3 inches with a tinge of colour in it, but still fishable. Obviously all this could change as the day goes on and there could be more water in below the larger tributaries.

NO CHANGE

Yesterdays rain didn't affect the river level and the weather is cloudy with some light rain at the min.

GOOD CONDITIONS

The small amounts of rain have not affected the river levels, which are still good. The weather is quite nice at the min, bright and cloudy. With no overnight rain the river should be unchanged from yesterday. However, there's still a cold breeze so it's worth seeking out the sheltered spots.

Another cold day with a fair easterly breeze is likely to make fishing pretty uncomfortable.
The river level/colour is unlikely to have changed since yesterday.

River still at a good level for fishing. Rain likely to hold off. Cumbria has enjoyed an extended run of bright sunny weather recently which is likely to show itself once again today. Intermitent showers have not really put too much of a damper on things.

The river is a little higher than yesterday but it is clear and quite fishable. The weather is a diferent matter. Sun, cloud, showers and possible snow are all forecast. Whatever the weather throws at us today it will remain cold.

The river is quite fishable. Anyone prepared to fish in wintry conditions should find conditions quite OK. Rain is forecast for later in the day.

The river is running at a nice clear level for fishing but the weather is very very cold. The banks are white from overnight snow.

It is beautiful day at the time of posting. Blue skies and sunshine prevail. It is tempting to be outdoors. A light snow fall occured overnight reminding us that wintry conditions still persist around here but the river is running at a good fishing level. If you like early season fishing today would be a good day to be out - until the weather takes a turn for the worse.

A RETURN TO WINTER

There's a dusting of fresh snow on the Pennines this morning.
Although the river level should not have changed much (yet) wintry showers are forecast, getting heavier and more prolonged as the day goes on.
While there's still the chance of a fish, it may not be the most comfortable experience.

GRAB IT WHILE YOU CAN

The river was looking good yesterday afternoon (although there wasn't much sign of fish or fly). There's been no overnight rain so today should be OK.
If you can get to the river today do it - the forecast is for a return to winter over the week end.

CHANCE OF A FISH?

While Steve's having PC problems this may not be quite as acccurate as normal.

The weather's currently overcast but dry & the forecast for today isn't too bad.

With little rain yesterday and overnight, the river should be getting something like fishable.
The higher reaches may offer the best chance again.

UP & COLOURED

The rain of the last couple of days has put river out again.
The best chance of a fish is at the top of the river or chasing rainbows at Bessybeck.

There has been plenty of rain overnight and the eden is rising . I would expect the conditions to get worse before they get better. It's still raining at the moment.

FISHABLE

The eden has dropped and is running clear, but is still running above normal and may be a bit higher downstream of the river belah. The weather is dry and overcast.

NO GOOD

The eden rose again yesterday and is still to high for fly fishing, plus the weather is not so good either, showers and breezy.

RIVER DROPPING

As mentioned yesterday the eden was rising and got quite high. It has dropped now to a level where it will be fishable in areas upstream of the main tributaries. The weather is dry at the min with patchy cloud.

WET AND WINDY

Its very windy and raining here this morning, plus the river level is creeping up. Stay at home !

GOOD CONDITIONS

It's a damp, overcast morning, but the rain that has fallen in the last few hours has not affected the river level which is still good.

It's a overcast, cool morning with a few flakes of snow falling and the eden is still running well.

Most of yesterdays snow has melted at lower levels and the river conditions are clear and a normal height, but the water is very cold. The weather is dry with patchy cloud.

SNOW

While I was mad enough to have a couple of hours in the river yesterday afternoon (and add another 2 fish to the seasons tally), looking at the amount of snow in the garden (about 4 inches), I suspect that I'd struggle to get there today.

If you haven't got 4 wheel drive forget it. If you have you're probably on a loser anyway.

sorry for no blog this morning, due to technical difficulties! River conditions for today were fine and due to the fact that there is no rain forecast tomorrows conditions will be good as well....but cold.

The river conditions are like yesterday, good. But the weather has different ideas, because it's raining and quite breezy, but you can always find a sheltered spot.
Just a word of warning that the fire brigade are doing an river rescue exercise this morning at musgrave bridge from 10am till about 12 midday.

NEW SEASON

Welcome to a new season on the Upper Eden, you'll be pleased to know that the river is running clear and at a good level. The weather is overcast and drizzley. Thanks to everyone who turned up at the AGM last night it was very successful and productive.
